Acceptance

Did you ever continue to live in your ‘own reality’ despite knowing the fact that the truth is something entirely different?

Why is it difficult to accept things at their face value in spite of having known the truth for a really long time? Are we running from facing the situation or from facing our very own emotions?

The answer to these trivial questions is hidden deep inside our fear of facing the unknown — be it the new situation or our own emotions.

Dragging on a relation for the sake of protecting our bubble due to the fear of losing our loved one, ending up all alone, or fear of facing the grim reality when the bubble bursts. Putting up with a boring, dead job due to the fear of being unemployed, not being able to support your dependents financially, or the fear of being termed as ‘jobless’.

But, is accepting the reality really that difficult as it looks? Can a small change in our perspectives lessen the burden of dealing with the aftermath of acceptance? Probably.

You need to get through the dreadful, frightening thunderstorm to be able to experience the beautiful rainbow spanning across the blue sky. So, why not yearn for the joy you would experience while seeing the rainbow to get yourself through that dreadful storm?

Why not peacefully end a dead relationship and give yourself a chance to rediscover what a wonderful yet strong human you are? Why not give the universe a chance to add many many more colors to your canvas?

Why not joyfully resign from a boring job and give yourself a chance to pursue your passion? Why not give life a chance to help make things happen for you?

Why not accept the passing away of a loved one’s physical form and be happy for the nirvana and bliss they would have attained as a result of their good karma? Why not be content with the fact that they do not need to suffer from any physical ailments and that they now have the power to influence soo many lives for the better?

Widening our perspective and looking at the brighter side of any situation in life surely does give us all the strength we would need to pick ourselves up and move ahead. More importantly, it gives us the courage and grit to ACCEPT the outcome and look forward to a bright future full of hope and never-ending opportunities.

Life is way too short to cling to that one reason or that one person.

Accept, breathe and live on. ❤
